Tony
McCarthy, Chairman
Tony
joined the
board as a non-executive
director in 1998 and was appointed chairman in 2002. He is a qualified
accountant ( ACMA ) and holds a first class honours MBA degree from
UCD. He is a senior executive with Ireland´s largest private
Client stockbroking firm, Goodbody Stockbrokers, where he has worked
for the past 8 years. Apart from being a director of a number of
internal Goodbody companies he also holds a number of external
directorships including Tecscan Ireland Ltd and Zarion Ltd where he is
chairman. Tony has a broad range of experience having held senior
positions in a number of Irish and international companies such as
Xtravision plc where he was Financial Director, Playprint Group (
Finance Director ) and the Guinness Group.
Gerry O´Connor. Chief
Executive Officer
Gerry
is a director and co-founder of Zarion. At Zarion he has led an
organization which has delivered over one hundred and forty business
solutions and has grown to be capable of servicing blue-chip customers
in seven countries. He has been elected by his peers to industry
leadership roles, having served for three years on the executive of the
ISA, the software industry lobby group. Prior to establishing Zarion in
1995, Gerry worked for 8 years with Wang Corporation operating in a
variety of roles including sales, marketing, business development and
operational management within Wang's European operations.
Gerard
Newman, Chief Technology Officer
Gerard is a
director and co-founder of Zarion. Gerard has responsibility for the
company´s product strategy and technical direction.
Gerard
has 20 years experience in the financial services IT sector with a
focus for the last 15 years on the development and deployment of
process automation solutions in mission-critical operational processes
at major financial organizations in Europe and USA. Prior to
establishing Zarion, Gerard worked for Wang Corporation in a number of
different roles. Gerard has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer
Applications from Dublin City University.
Dr.
Jim Mountjoy, Non-executive Director
Dr. Jim Mountjoy
joined the board as a
non-executive director in 2001. Dr. Mountjoy is a well-known and
respected figure in the international software industry. He founded
software firm Euristix, an innovative supplier of advanced network
management solutions for the telecommunications industry. Under Dr.
Mountjoy's leadership, Euristix became a market leader, with a customer
list including such blue chip companies as CISCO, Tellabs, Motorola,
Alcatel, IBM and HP. Euristix was sold to Fore Systems for US$80million
in February 1999, a value that increased to US$175 million in two
months when Fore Systems was acquired by Marconi. Dr Mountjoy is
currently involved in a non-executive capacity with a number of
software companies.
Brendan
Foster, Company Secretary
Brendan Foster
joined the board of Zarion as a
non-executive director in 2002 and has acted as Company Secretary since
1999 and professional adviser to the company since 1996. Brendan is
founding partner of Foster McAteer, Chartered Certified Accountants and
past president of ACCA Leinster Society. Prior to setting up his own
practice Brendan spent 8 years with Farrell Grant Sparks, Chartered
Accountants, as Director of Consulting Services. |
